There are presently 16 Elements in the Chartered professional Engineer
Assessment Australia Stage 2 Competency Standards.
The Self-Assessment pertains to you rating yourself either
Developing, Proficient, Functional or Advanced in each of the 16
components.
- Developing: A facet of Practice that you are understanding and where you desire oversight to exercise at a reasonable standard
- Functional: A facet of Practice where you can work unassisted at a reasonable standard without help or supervision
- Proficient: A characteristic of Practice where your skill to act unaided is comprehended as at a high standard and you can educate and supervise others
- Advanced: An aspect of Practice where you can direct teams, train others, and can conduct decisively from knowledge and an extremely high understanding base
Once you have finalized your ratings, you will be guided on options
for additional improvement and/or proceed with your Chartered
application. The standard to apply for Chartered is practical or
overhead which is commonly attained at the 5 years of experience mark.
You can complete Self-Assessment as several times as you like,
publishing it to keep as a list of your development until you realize
ready to continue to the Industry Review. By the time you realize
prepared to continue to the Industry Review, you require to have settled
on the Areas of Practice you would like to follow for Chartered.
