limits and the required documents for this visa.
Conditions:
You must fulfill the conditions listed below to attain an
innovator visa:
- Having the desire to set up or run a business in the Isle of Man.
- You fulfill the other eligibility criteria.
- The Department for Enterprise of the Isle of Man Government has approved your business or business idea.
- You have a minimum of £50,000 in investment funds if planning to set
up a new business. The funds are not necessary if your business is
already set and has been endorsed for an earlier visa.
Getting endorsed:
The Department for Enterprise is the only endorsing organization in
the Isle of Man for the Business Migrant route. It is the only body as
prescribed in Appendix X of the Isle of Man Immigration Rules. Moreover,
it bears the responsibility for issuing the Letter of Endorsement that
an applicant needs to support their visa application.
Your limits and freedom:
The following are the two lists of what you can do and what you can’t:
Things you can do:
You can work for your business. It includes being employed as a director, or self-employed as a business partnership member.
Bringing your family members with you is allowed.
You can set up a business or many businesses
Things you can’t do:
- You can’t work as a dentist or doctor in training.
- Doing any work outside your business, for example, work in which you work for another business is unacceptable.
- You can’t work as a professional sportsperson, for instance, a sports coach receives public funds.
Required documents:
When applying, you must provide a Letter of Endorsement. The
Department for Enterprise of the Isle of Man Government issues you this
letter.
In addition, provide the assessment authority with the below-provided documents:
- A current passport or any other valid travel identification.
- Bank statements that prove that you have had a minimum of £945 in
savings in your bank account. In fact, this must be for 90 consecutive
days before you apply. Moreover, it is also proof that you can keep
yourself in the Isle of Man. Another thing to remember is that this
amount must be separated from the money of your investment fund.
- Evidence that you fulfill the English language eligibility criteria.
- Proof of having investment funds (if setting up a new business)
- Tuberculosis test results if coming from a country in which this test is a must.
The authority also needs you to have a blank page in your passport for your visa.
You must provide the authority with a certified translation of any documents that are not in English.
