- The first object is to ensure the competency and proficiency of members that are in the practice of professional engineering or professional geoscience to safeguard the population.
- To legislate the practice of professional geoscience by members in agreement with the act and bylaws.
- To improve and promote the competency and proficiency of its members.
- To enable the practice of professional engineering and geoscience by members to work in a way that lies in the public interest.
